Lubbock Wedding Photographer

I'm Clay Benedict, a wedding photographer based in Portales, New Mexico, and I'm now booking weddings in Lubbock. It's about a two-hour drive east on US-70 and US-84, so for me Lubbock isn't a far-off destination. It's practically the neighborhood. Even so, I'll be honest with you: I'm just starting to photograph weddings here. I can't point you to a stack of Lubbock galleries yet. What I can offer is the same approach I've brought to ranch and outdoor weddings across New Mexico and Colorado, with a photographer who's excited to be part of your day.

The South Plains have their own kind of beauty. The sky is huge, the land is flat out to the horizon, and the sunsets fill the whole frame. Whether you're planning a ranch or barn venue outside of town, a backyard on family land, or a celebration somewhere in the city, I love working in open country where the light has room to move. Wind is part of life out here, so we'll plan portraits with that in mind: a sheltered spot, a veil that's ready to fly, and timing that puts you in the soft evening light.

My style is honest and unposed. I'm not there to run your day or stage moments. I'm there to catch the real ones as they happen: your mom straightening your collar, your grandparents on the dance floor, the quiet look between the two of you after the vows. For portraits I give simple, gentle direction so you never feel stiff, and then I let you be yourselves.

Yes. Travel is included in your quote. Lubbock is close enough that it's an easy drive for me.
